Moesin is a member of the ERM (Ezrin-Radixin-Moesin) protein family, which possesses structural and probably functional relationships; they function as plasma membrane-actin cytoskeleton linkers and participate in the formation of specialized domains of the plasma membrane and are all localized to the submembranous cytoskeleton. Moesin is widely expressed in different tissues in cells, where it is localized to filopodia and other membranous protrusions that are important for cell-cell recognition and signalling and for cell movement.
Moesin是細(xì)胞骨架與細(xì)胞膜之間的連接蛋白,對(duì)細(xì)胞膜區(qū)域的整合和穩(wěn)定性起到結(jié)構(gòu)和功能調(diào)控的作用.通過連接細(xì)胞骨架和細(xì)胞膜。Moesin對(duì)細(xì)胞黏附、形態(tài)、分化、運(yùn)動(dòng)等起到重要調(diào)節(jié)作用。膜突蛋白早先被鑒定為一種硫酸乙酰肝素的可能受體和細(xì)胞骨架的連接蛋白，能穩(wěn)定細(xì)胞表面的微絨毛、絲足和層形足板。膜-細(xì)胞骨架連接蛋白的埃茲蛋白-根蛋白-膜突蛋白（ERM）家族的成員都具有與質(zhì)膜和肌動(dòng)蛋白細(xì)胞骨架分別相連的氨基端和羧基端結(jié)構(gòu)域。
